Stephie- F* Breast Cancer

One year ago, on 9/5/2019, three best friends got together for a brunch filled with love, laughter, and many tears. Emilie provided the champagne as I cut all the hair off of Stephie to prepare her for the chemo she would start the next week. It wasn't even a week earlier we found out that she had stage 3 of an aggressive breast cancer. And while we didn't have much time to process this information, we knew one thing was for sure—Stephie was going to fight this with the same positive attitude she brought to that brunch. It is what it is, so let’s fight like hell with the support of your best friends by your side.
We couldn't just cut all of her hair off. We needed to feel all of the feels and create a memory we could some day look back on as just another hard moment in our journey of friendship. So we decided to drink ALL the champange and cut her hair into the horrible emo haircut I had given her so many years before. We then felt we at least needed to know what she would look like with a mom bob before giving her the worst faux hawk ever. In the end, we shaved it all off and realized her shaved head was beautiful! This wasn't a "cancer day", it was a "girls day" and we never lost hope we would have many more to come!
I won't go into our whole long story but just know that Stephie is my person. My very best friend. The one who threw me a baby shower before I got to be her maid of honor. Far too many of us have that person who we love more than anything who is effected by cancer. F* cancer! Exactly one year later we all got together to celebrate Stephie being cancer free! We hadn't seen each other in months because also F* Covid. But I am so grateful we get to have many more girls days.
So while 2020 is the worst, it will always be a good year for me. Because its the year my best friend beat breast cancer. And while its currently Stephie 1 and Cancer 0, her fight is far from over. So for every bottle of Stephie that is sold, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to BCRF to help continue the fight.
The mission of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation is to prevent and cure breast cancer by advancing the world's most promising research. Please consider donating directly to the organization. But if you want to rock this super cute pink splatter polish anyway, just know it helps Loud Lacquer to continue to donate to them as well.
Thank you Stephie for being my best friend, my warrior and my inspiration! I love you and I am overjoyed that you will get to continue to be my person. ❤️ Mel
